The wrinkles give it texture and depth and character. It may not be what you expected, but I, personally, think it adds something special. Writers often say that the characters in a novel take on a life and a will of their own and the characters decide on the twists and turns in the story. I think that painting and drawing is the same, we have to let our subconscious have some space and even try to let it leads us. We hold the pen or the brush, but something else is guiding us.
