ATC = Artist Trading Cards. They measure 2.5 x 3.5 inches.
June theme choice:
The theme this time is: Haptic (which is the sense of touch but I have included the other senses as well as touch is difficult to represent visually). Touch was actually represented by mounting the pictures on corrugated card so the recipient’s hand can appreciate the tactile quality of holding and feeling the ATC as it is examined.
I have used a photo I took at a National Trust property called Snowshill as the base for each combination. The collector bought Snowshill to house his collection – he never lived in the main building! He collected ALL SORTS OF EVERYTHING from childhood onwards. All items had to be great examples of the craft involved. A fascinating place to visit. I love the serpentine – wonder what it sounds like. This is for hearing.
I added to that snippets of ‘stolen’ photos for taste, smell and sight. As explained above, the cards are mounted on a textured paper for touch.
