About & contact

Welcome to my painting blog/gallery.

See what my painting is up to on Facebook!

In the past I have exhibited and sold paintings, patchwork, silk painting, clay modelling, assemblage and beadwork. Most of these combine a love of colour, pattern, texture and line. Now I am just painting, exploring monotype with collage and studying abstracting from landscape.

I have never been able to work solely as an artist. But alongside the ‘day job’ I was a member of the Pantiles Craftworkers’ cooperative in Tunbridge Wells from 1985 to 1994 selling my work direct to the public. At that time I was focused on flower painting in a loose watercolour style (much influenced by previous study of sumi-e), and painting on silk. My work has also been shown in galleries in Battle, Brighton, Burwash, Reigate, Rye, Wadhurst and Tunbridge Wells, and many exhibitions. See a list here. I have enjoyed leading workshops at local Art Societies. At one time a series of my paintings was available commercially as large greetings cards. During 2014 I illustrated a series of fairy tales which are listed on my other blog. You can see a sample on this blog under Year of the Fairy Tale. I am beginning work on more illustrations for picture books this year.
