…it’s only a bit of fun!
Oh dear. Sometimes when I draw these things that appear from nowhere I feel concern for my sanity…
Found images in acrylic media on printing paper. Image 6×6 inches (15×15 cm) approximately.
She holds her dummy close even while she isn’t speaking. An unlikely subject which appeared out of my collage. Image 10×8 inches (25×20 cm).
But who cares. If you like it, wear it.
Sadly I started this 10×8 inch picture on too many varieties of oriental tissue so it was impossible to flatten it out – hence the wrinkles that persist! Otherwise I was pleased with it!
This is just the beginning of the piece. At lesson 23, the year’s work is nearly done. It’s been brilliant! Year of the Spark has followed Year of the Fairy Tale – both with Carla Sonheim. This year Lynn Whipple has provided half the lessons. Super mix of talents.
Next year it will be Y is for Yellow. Watch this space…
Is she blushing or having a quiet cough in the wings? Quirky figure collage. Image measures 8×10 inches (20×25.5 cm).
Another from my series about the Moeraki boulders. Silly but colourful! The image is 8×10 inches (25.5×20 cm), painted in various acrylic media on paper.
One of a series of paintings referring to the amazing Moeraki Boulders in New Zealand. The image is 10×8 inches (25.5×20 cm) painted on paper with a variety of acrylic products.
A woman’s face. Her expression is sad, lost in her own thoughts maybe. An experimental collage which seems to be complete at this stage. I like it anyway!
Mixed media on paper, the image measures 8×10 inches (20×25.5 cm).
One of those splodges of paint which suddenly turned into a recognisable bird! I couldn’t bear to add to it in case the grebe disappeared again. Image 8×10 inches (20×25.5 cm). Just another for the drawer…
One of a recent series of figures outlined with heavy black. I love the way the bright colours look like traditional stained glass. I remember dancing to this song way back… Didn’t want to offend with the real title!
Image 8×10 inches (20×25.5 cm)
I feel for this lady! Mixed media on paper, image 8×10 inches (20×25.5 cm). Have a giggle!
A colour piece chosen for the Summer Exhibition at Redleaf Gallery, Tunbridge Wells from 13th June – check the gallery site for times of opening. Image size 8×10 inches (20×25.5 cm).
Encouraged to find colour palettes and do self-portraits for my week’s lesson on Year of the Spark, I have done three faces. Here they are with the colour selections.
