A collage of decorated papers on a monotype background. I made this when exploring the possibilities of translating a tonal design into collage. Image 8×5.5 inches (20×14 cm).

Available as a print, greeting card or iPhone case here (now with US and UK/European distribution).

A boldly coloured version of an earlier drawing. You can see the original charcoal drawing on this blog. (I think I rather prefer the charcoal! You can’t win ’em all.)

Reproduction available here.

A figure cut from a collage of decorated papers affixed to another collage. The whole is quite enigmatic as the figure may be seen as a nude or dressed! The image size is 8×10.5 inches.

A suitable picture for Easter and spring. Hope we see the sun… Image 5.5×7.25 inches. This is a mixed media painting which I completed while following an online course with Diane Culhane. There aren’t enough hours in the day to do all the painting I want to – all such fun.

It’s available as a print, greeting card or phone case.

Hill gods

A monotype worked in several layers of gouache on Arches paper. The design is loosely based on a picture of an old turf cutting which is said to represent deities. It is from the Gog Magog Hills – an area steeped in tales of mysterious appearances, buried giants and ghosts. (The name ‘hills’ is slightly misleading as they are not very high: just definitely above the flat plain and therefore giving a commanding view.)

Artwork is 7.5×5.5 inches (19×14 cm).

A fun experiment in trying to get a sumi-e look on the iPad using the Brushes App. The sparrow ‘paintings’ were then printed on silk and added to a background of prepared papers in a collage.

Size 7×5 inches (18×13 cm)

A collaged pattern of pieces cut from prepared papers and stuck on a monotype background. The theme was suggested by a couple of the shapes but the pattern is abstract really and is one of an experimental set using simplified 3-tone versions of photographs as a starting point. 7×5 inches (18×13 cm).

I had this framed and Adam the framer said it was foxes so I renamed it Vulpes vulpes! But it’s still listed under the old title here.

A small picture which evolved through collage and many layers of paint. The title comes I think from Mervyn Peake’s Letters from a Lost Uncle and always makes me smile. Image 6.75 inches square (17 cm square) on heavyweight watercolour paper.

Another very small experimental piece in mixed media. Only 4 inches square (10 cm square). Rather accidental from start to finish but I was pleased with the colours.
