A tiny collage picture (ATC size) which includes a reproduction of a detail from a larger painting. It is so strange how the tilt of the head, the surrounding colour etc. changes everything – she looked quite happy before!

The original portrait sold long ago but this new version is available as a print in various formats here.

A fun experiment in trying to get a sumi-e look on the iPad using the Brushes App. The sparrow ‘paintings’ were then printed on silk and added to a background of prepared papers in a collage.

Size 7×5 inches (18×13 cm)

A collaged pattern of pieces cut from prepared papers and stuck on a monotype background. The theme was suggested by a couple of the shapes but the pattern is abstract really and is one of an experimental set using simplified 3-tone versions of photographs as a starting point. 7×5 inches (18×13 cm).

I had this framed and Adam the framer said it was foxes so I renamed it Vulpes vulpes! But it’s still listed under the old title here.

Most of my current collages are made with decorated papers I prepare myself but this one I ‘made earlier’ has always been one of my favourites. The shape of the house is more-or-less as it should be but it was actually black and white.   The collaged additions are not Caribbean!

Reproduction and iPhone case available here.

A small picture which evolved through collage and many layers of paint. The title comes I think from Mervyn Peake’s Letters from a Lost Uncle and always makes me smile. Image 6.75 inches square (17 cm square) on heavyweight watercolour paper.

Well, no – it’s not really an elephant, I agree! But at a quick glance it might be! A mixed media piece including some collaged prepared papers on heavyweight watercolour paper. Size 6.5 inches square (16.5 cm square).

This is a tiny image – only 4.5 inches square – but I find it pleasing because you have to seek out the man of the title. A representation of a happy day out exploring the surroundings of an old English church.

A tiny picture only 4×4 inches but I found it pleasing when the abstract pieces seemed to make a nice whole. Prepared papers collaged onto heavyweight watercolour paper.

An abstract of prepared papers, collaged to heavyweight watercolour paper. The similarity to a ‘distressed’ advertising site has been deliberately developed.

Image size 8×8 inches (20×20 cm approx) ready to frame under glass.

A bold ‘blind contour’ drawing over an abstract collage background. Her thoughts may be elsewhere but it’s a good day – she’s wearing her red dress.

Essentially an abstract piece but I like the vague resemblance to three heads in a row! 7×5 inches. Mixed media including collage on heavyweight watercolour paper.
